Theresa is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Firefly Café & Bakery, a fast casual restaurant that offers gourmet, locally-sourced fare and serves as a training facility for NW Works’ clients. In addition to maintaining superior production and quality standards, she manages employees, responds to customer inquiries, and markets the café. Prior to joining NW Works, Theresa was in sales, mostly in the hospitality industry, for over a decade.
As the manager of Firefly, Theresa helps clients learn skills they need to gain employment. She is proud to work for an organization that helps people feel they are valuable and part of the community. Theresa’s own life is positively affected by clients who are ready with a smile on a tough day or a “high five” when they accomplish something new. She is grateful for the palpable warmth of NW Works and is happy to end each day feeling she made a difference in someone’s life.
Theresa is actively involved in the community beyond her work at NW Works. She serves on the boards of Concern Hotline and Big Brothers Big Sisters, she is co-chair of the Shenandoah Apple Blossom Festival, she assists with Top of Virginia Regional Chamber events, and she is a board member of the Winchester Fire and Rescue Foundation. When not helping others, Theresa spends time with family and friends going to the movies, hiking, and trying new restaurants and wineries.
